Directions:
Access to The Bungalow only is up the old private access road, 300 metres on the right after the 20km post on the Udugama Road. The drive starts on the inside corner of a right hand bend at the top of the hill, opposite Akaluhena Junction.
For all other visits and access to the Lower Bungalow, please continue for another 300 metres and turn right up the steep cobbled road on the apex of a sharp left hand bend. The Lower Bungalow is accessed through some wooden gates about 300 metres on the right. The main car park, reception area, office, information centre and shop are 200 metres further on through another set of wooden gates.
Please note that after heavy rains this road can be difficult to access without four-wheel drive and good ground clearance. If in doubt, please call ahead to check conditions – Alex on 0777 906 156.
The Udugama Road starts opposite the Closenberg Hotel and entrance to Galle Port about two kilometres east of Galle on the coast road to Matara. The journey takes 40 minutes from Galle town.
